Dow Jones futures: S&P 500 hits new high, Amazon leads several buys; Tesla falters
Dow Jones futures edged higher overnight, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures.The stock market rally had another solid performance, with the S&P 500 joining the Dow Jones in new-high ground.
Major stock indexes soared Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average hitting an all-time high, after the U.S. military seized Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro over the weekend.
Monday’s gains put the Dow in the lead among major U.S. equity benchmarks, with the index advancing 1.5% on the session. Among individual components, several key names contributed notably to the rally including shares of Chevron ( CVX) which have gained more than 5%.
NASDAQ gains ground amid rising demand for tech stocks. Western Digital, which is up by 15.5%, is the biggest gainer in the NASDAQ index today. The stock gained strong upside momentum amid reports indicating that computer memory chip prices surged due to high demand from AI services.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average hit record all-time highs in 2025 with many of the components ending the year higher. Along with serving as a well-known barometer of overall market health, the index offers some of the top yielding blue-chip stocks.
U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining more than 250 points on Monday. Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded up 0.54% to 48,641.58 while the NASDAQ gained 0.65% to 23,386.57. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.63% to 6,901.52.
The 25,000 level underneath there offers support as well, and I think this remains a market that you’re looking at dips as potential value.
