North Korea has launched short-range ballistic missiles into the sea. South Korea’s military said it detected liftoffs Tuesday of several ballistic missiles north of the North Korean capital Pyongyang.

The reasons could be "possible limitations of a technical or political character," Ukraine's military intelligence told the Kyiv Independent.

The missiles were fired from the Pyongyang area at about 4 p.m., Japan said.
